Norwegian Nurses Organisation (Norsk Sykepleierforbund), NSF, is Norway’s nationwide trade union of nurses, certified nurses, specialist nurses, midwives, and nursing students. NSF works for the interests of its members, including items such as terms of wages, working hours, employment, and pension rights. It is Norway’s fourth largest trade union with over 108,000 members.
inlumi was hired to implement a planning and budgeting solution and streamline their existing planning and budgeting process.
Challenges
Upgrade or replace the nurse union’s existing planning and budgeting solution that had become unstable
Streamline and simplify NSF’s planning and budgeting process, and minimise system downtime
Implement a planning and budgeting solution to better achieve the association’s strategic goals, for example determining members’ wages
Improve the basis for mission-critical operational and tactical decisions through enhanced financial analysis and reporting
Lower the costs of operation and management of the planning and budgeting solution, and free up resources for the IT staff that could instead be used to develop the solution
Results
inlumi implemented an effective Cloud solution & saved the NSF $25,000 a year.
Implemented Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service and successfully streamlined, sped up, and simplified the planning and budgeting process, making great time savings in the process, and minimised the risk of downtime
Made it possible to use the cloud service as a tool to better achieve the association’s strategic goals, for example when it comes to members’ wages, and the administration of the association’s assets
Improved the basis for the management team’s mission-critical operational and tactical decision-making through the cloud solution’s improved analysis and reporting capabilities, for example in terms of the membership development
Created a stable foundation for further development of the planning and budget process on account of Oracle’s continuous upgrading and development of the cloud solution
Freed up resources for the IT staff, who no longer have responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and updates of servers, which can instead be used to develop the planning and budgeting solution—and made savings of around $25,000 a year as investments in hardware are no longer needed
